Custodian

Profile

The Custodian is responsible for general cleaning and maintenance duties which may include: vacuuming, dusting, item washing, trash collecting and proper sorting. Works to ensure offices, rest rooms, facilities, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Being a Custodian typically reports to a supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Must be willing to sweep, mop, dust, pull trash which can weigh 40 or more pounds, fi

ll all dispensers, soap,

paper towel and toilet paper;

Must

have an understanding of

job duties, machines, and equipment necessary to complete tasks;

Uses personal protective equipment correctly such as safety glasses and vinyl gloves;

Produces quality work within pre-set time frames;

Shows initiative

in regard to

job functions and accepts new responsibilities as needed;

Has a willingness to work with and help others;

Cleaning an

d stocking restrooms

, and other areas;

Other duties as assigned;

Polish windows and other surfaces as assigned;

Maintain safety procedures by handling cleaning equipment and supplies according to company protocols;

Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment;

Other cleaning duties as needed;

Cleaning and restocking restrooms;

Requirements

Must be able to work independently;

Positive attitude, willingness to perform all duties, punctuality, and reliability are a necessity to be successful in the position;

Must have the capability of understanding instructions both written and oral communication;

Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies;

Ability to lift at least 25 pounds;
