Assembler Jobs description
Assemblers perform mechanical assembling of parts, subassemblies, and system-level assemblies; check assemblies for errors or faults; and maintain appropriate records documenting inspection and test status. They also document and handle nonconforming parts or components; troubleshoot and repair components or assemblies; provide and receive assembly, repair, and inspection method training; and comply with work safety rules and regulations.Senior assembler positions may involve the preparation of guides or manuals for fellow assemblers or training of junior assemblers. Similar positions include machine operator, junior assembler, senior assembler, mechanic, production assistant, mechanical assembler, and production assembler.
Applicants for assembler jobs should have their high school diplomas or GEDs. Some jobs may require the use of vernier calipers and electrical test equipment like multimeters. The ability to use soldering irons, gas or electric welding equipment, or computers may be required. The job may also require lifting and moving of heavy objects on a daily basis.
