Executive Housekeeper Jobs description
An executive housekeeper oversees housekeeping operations and staff of the housekeeping department of an organization. Responsibilities of an executive housekeeper includes establishing and/or implementing operating procedures and standards; planning and coordinating activities of housekeeping supervisors and their crew; coordinating inspection or inspecting assigned areas; applying human resource management skills, that include training, hiring, scheduling, and evaluating performance; completing financial management tasks, such as setting and adhering to a budget; and managing other administrative tasks.A diploma in tourism, business management, or certification in housekeeping room attendant is generally required for an executive housekeeper job. A secondary school diploma is an advantage. Experience working as housekeeper is essential. Skills and knowledge in human resource management is important. Basic accounting skills and good customer service skills are required. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) certification is advantageous. Purchasing and inventory skills is also a plus. An executive housekeeper can advance his/her career as front office/ rooms division manager, housekeeping director, or rooms division executive.
