A new tribal casino scheduled to open at the end of the year is flooded with hopeful applicants anticipating grabbing a spot at one of the available positions. But with an influx of 11,000 resumes at its disposal, the
Red Hawk Casino can afford to be choosy as to who will fill the 1,700 vacancies.
The casino, owned by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, is good news to California’s jobless, as unemployment has hit its highest in 12 years. The state unemployment rate was at 7.7% in August.
The casino is looking to hire technicians, slot supervisors,
cooks, housekeepers, and other workers. The casino will feature 2,000 slot machines, 75 table games, and six restaurants.
