Katahdin Paper Mill to Close its Doors Forever

The Katahdin Paper Mill, located in Millinocket, Maine, is scheduled to close its doors forever, causing 208 mill workers to lose their jobs, due to the high cost of oil.
A mill spokesperson said that a small number of workers will continue with cleanup and mothballing operations until the layoffs take effect.
The company plans to convert the mill from oil-burning to using a biomass boiler.
