Workers in Boulder, Colorado, experience job loss a lot faster in blue-collar jobs versus
white-collar jobs.
According to economic expert Richard Wobbekind, this is because higher-skilled jobs are more available in the region, which houses
advanced technology industries.
Colorado’s labor department showed that for the month of July, unemployment increased one percent from June to 5.2%, compared to 5.7% on a national scale.
Boulder County lost 8,154 jobs as Colorado’s unemployment insurance jumped up to 14%. First time claims increased to 30,000 for the month ending in July.
