Steelcase warns Grand Rapids workers jobs at risk

Grand Rapids factory workers for Steelcase have been warned that 300 may lose their jobs by the end of February, according to The Grand Rapids Press. The office furniture manufacturer had already issued warnings to another 300 local workers.
In all, 600 blue-collar workers at local plants have received the notices, company spokeswoman Jeanine Holquist said.
The job cuts and warnings are necessary because of the slow office furniture market, she said.
