To effectively perform all of the required duties of the Quality Assurance technician in an accurate, thorough and safe manner as outlined per the
Buddig and Company job description.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis.
Must work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be flexible and able to work as needed.
Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less
To ensure slicing area runs with a minimum amount of problems and to inspect the quality of packages and products being produced. In order to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Before production begins for each shift the quality control technician is to supply wash stations with aprons, plastic gloves and all PPE for employees.
Perform pre-operational inspections and swabs of all lines when needed.
QC- technician will calibrate analyzer every morning before using.
Pull sample from each working production line:
All Quality Checks Performed Every 45 to 60 Minutes
QC- Technician will perform net weight checks on all working Production lines
QC –Technician will verify metal detector is checked by passing the wand through it.
QC -technician check metal detectors and X-ray calibrate; check all packages rejected by metal detectors and collect all metal shavings found.
QC – technician also, is to observe for properly washed hands and sanitized gloves. Check for work shoes, no nail polish, no jewelry and no food (GMP Checks).
Package Integrity Checks are to be performed at the beginning of the shift and throughout the production day.
Bags are to be squeezed to check for weak seals.
Production details checked: correct film, code date, price, weight, etc.
Make sure code dates information and prices are readable, not smeared.
Check for proper meat quality: slice count, complete slices, meat code.
Collect samples for shelf life retains per schedul
Proper sanitation of lines through the production day.
Packages, boxes and cases are to be checked for proper dates, codes and any special markings or inserts.
First aid supplies are to be made available to employees.
Refill sanitizer station with sanitizer and check ppm level along with the water temperature.
Observe plant employees during operation to make sure all policies and programs such as GMPs, HACCP, SSOP’s, and Company Allergen Policy are followed properly.
Review data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
Perform in-plant audit / inspections during preopertional and operational times
Establish an active role in plant quality improvement and the organization.
Maintain a good rapport with all Carl Buddig and Company co-workers.
Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company employee handbook.
Take responsibility in your area of employment with Carl Buddig and Company for reporting, making recommendations and correcting situations adverse to the company’s best interest.
Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
Report all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.

Education and/or Experience:
Ability to legally work in the
