This position ensures a productive working and learning environment for students, faculty, and staff by providing excellent customer service, professional appearance, timely work, and expert communication skills. nCore responsibilities of this position include:n nOther tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.n nPriority Screening Date: Position is open until filled. n nStarting Date: As soon after hiring process as practical. n nFor information about Cheyenne, visit ****FunctionsnEssential Functions:nn Respond to request for service calls/work orders and emergencies (including after hours) as neededn Inspect and test systems/parts/equipment/fixtures to verify compliance with plans, operational status, and specifications or detect need for repair/replacementn Perform daily, weekly, monthly inspections, and scheduled preventive maintenancen Install, operate, maintain, and repair indoor/outdoor fixtures, equipment, electrical systems, variable frequency drive systems, emergency power standby systems n Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to verify the configuration and to ensure the proper installation of componentsn Assemble, position, and mount electrical components and parts n Facilitate installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairsn Electrical and site maintenance support n Prep jobsites n Plan, layout, and installation of class II wiring systems.n Maintain, repair, and install kitchen equipment n Order and maintain inventory/schedule for parts, services, equipment, and toolsn Safely drive vehicles, and operate large complex maintenance equipmentn Provide excellent customer servicen Follows OSHA and college safety practices, regulations, and proceduresn Other duties as assignednnKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:nn Knowledge of electrical repair including maintenance of commercial buildings and equipmentn Ability to operate equipment properly and safely n Trade skills in electrical equipment installations, troubleshooting, and repairn Must be able to drive vehicles, and operate large complex maintenance equipmentn Must have a valid Wyoming driver's license and be able to meet the collegesn Ability to interpret building blueprints, manufacture installation/repair instructions, and safety data sheetsn Knowledge of OSHA requirements and building code regulations; ability to learn, interpret and apply current pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulationsn Working knowledge and ability with computer software programsn Ability to read and interpret instructions in oral, written, or diagrammatical form n Ability to read and interpret building schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer specificationsnnPhysical/Mental Demands: nn Frequently required to squat, bend, twist, kneel, sit, stand, climb, and extend arms over head n Work in environments and conditions above ceilings, on roofs, outside, inside, mechanical rooms, tunnels, labs, arena, hallways, meeting rooms and various campus facilities n Exposure to and use of safety equipment for outdoor weather extremes for extended periodsn Exposure to and use of safety equipment for hazardous materials, biohazards, chemicals, electrical equipment, and fuels/petroleum productsn May be required to climb ladders, maneuver in confined spaces, and work with tools/equipment in unconventional positionsn Instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use n Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsnn nQualificationsnEducation and Experience Requirements:nMinimum:nn WY licensed Journeyman Electrician  n Four (4) years of experience in general electrical installation, repair and or maintenance of commercial facilitiesn Must have a valid driveru2019s license and be able to meet the college insurance carrier requirements.nn nPreferred Qualifications:nn Master Electrical Licensen Five or more years of experiencen Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field of studyn OSHA 10 certification or capability to attain certificationnnLCCC in its strategic plan has identified important Core Values and Aspirational Values, which are inherent in the cultural fabric of the College.  The person fulfilling this role is expected to bear these qualities and advocate for them.   ****you are selected for the position, your appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
