Description
This person is responsible for general building maintenance, building inspections, general groundskeeping, and assists with purchasing of maintenance supplies and equipment for Surrey Place. This person works as a member of the building team in order to provide an optimally functional, safe, as well as aesthetically pleasing facility for our customers, internal and external. This person performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
1. General Building Maintenance - 50%
A. Replacing ceiling tiles as needed.
B. Painting when appropriate.
C. Moving office furniture when appropriate.
D. Makes rounds with EOC team.
E. Works with manager in the purchasing of supplies and equipment for repairs, as well as items for renovation projects.
F. Maintains clean and neat work closets and storage areas.
2. Utilizing the Monthly Maintenance Inspection Check List, a monthly inspection at your facility will be performed and documentation will be provided to your manager. Provides solutions to problems that exist. 5%
3. Maintains monthly checks includes, but not limited to, fire extinguishers, ice machines, emergency signs & exits and fire extinguisher annual inservice. 30%
4. Groundskeeping:
A. Responsible for snow and ice removal and basic landscaping when needed. 5%
5. Works with subcontractors including: 5%
A. Plumbing contractors
B. Electrical-indoor and outdoor lighting
C. Painting-when project is more than can be effectively done by the maintenance mechanic.
D. Inspection teams
6. Drives St. Luke's vehicle to pickup various supplies for facility and is also responsible for snow removal/spreading salt with same vehicle.
7. Backup to Driver as required:
Maintains transportation logs
Performs inspection of vehicle daily
Transports residents to scheduled appointments and activities
Provides courier service as needed or directed
Performs simple errands for other departments
Maintains appointment schedule of resident transports
Responsible for cleaning the exterior and interior of van
Maintains emergency kit in van
8. Performs other work duties as assigned. 5%
Education
High school graduate or GED required.
BLS required upon hire.
Chauffeurs license required.
Experience
1. Verbal ability required to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
2. Numerical ability needed to make calculations for installation and/or repair of equipment and building repairs.
3. Spatial perception needed for reading of specifications and use of tools and equipment.
4. Ability to assist in development of facility guidelines for safety & regulatory issues.
5. Ability to work independent of direct supervision.
