This position is responsible for performing various hatchery tasks while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks: Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday--start time from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Times may vary.) Load/remove baskets and trays weighing 10 lbs. to 15 lbs. from machines. Bend and lift a minimum of 30 lbs. from 6” high to 5’6” high repetitively. Push and pull buggies of eggs weighing up to 500 lbs. Cull non-viable chicks from viable chicks. Wash hatchers.
Requirements: Work flexible hours and willing to work most holidays. Rotate jobs. Stand/walk on concrete floors 4 to 5 days per week, 8 to 10 hours per day. Work 6 days per week if needed. Climb ladders and stairs. Work in extreme hot and cold environments. Tolerate chick down and smell of rotten eggs. Work with cleaning chemicals. Follow all Hatchery Safety rules and regulations and all Animal Welfare Guidelines. Wear appropriate PPE as required.
