OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:The Distribution Center (DC) Maintenance Technician while working safely will be responsible for all functions as it pertains to DC maintenance, including but not limited to, operating an industrial scrubber, power washing, sanitation, general housekeeping duties, and minor equipment repairs

 

JOB SUMMARY:The Distribution Center (DC) Maintenance Technician will perform various daily duties as assigned by the DC Manager to ensure proper warehouse cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and harnesses or seatbelts while driving equipment *Responsible for verifying daily safety checks of equipment *Operate powered industry vehicles (Forklifts, Man-up Order Selectors and Floor Scrubbers) in a safe manner *Assist with periodic inventory counts *Assists in retread center activities as assigned *Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment in compliance with OSHA and company directives, using safety first practices to remain accident-free *Perform routine facilities maintenance, housekeeping, and sanitization tasks *Ensure facility and company assets are properly secured and maintained to ensure operational readiness *Maintain personal grooming and company uniform standards *Maintain company attendance standards *Execute company policies, procedures and programs in a professional, effective and timely manner *Model the Love's core values of Focus on the Customer, Integrity, Strong Work Ethic, Innovative Thinking and Perseverance *Other duties as necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

*Education:

*High School Diploma or GED preferred

*Experience:

*Prior experience working in a distribution center/warehouse environment

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

*Skills:

*Hard Skills: Ability to learn and operate all facility equipment including computers, forklifts and floor scrubbers

*Soft Skills: *Good verbal and written communication skills *Perform basic arithmetic functions: add, subtract, multiply and divide *Can-do attitude, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic *Typical Physical Demands:

*Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and working from elevated surfaces *Frequently lift and/or move over 75 pounds

*Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator *Requires normal range of hearing and vision

WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working within a fast paced distribution center and tire retread plant environment where there may be wide temperature variations depending on weather conditions.  While performing duties, the employee is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, rubber smells and debris, cleaning solutions as well as powered material handling equipment and commercial truck traffic.

 

WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, based on business needs

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:No travel is required with this position.
