POSITION SUMMARY:

The sample maker is responsible for the execution of concepts, trials, prototypes and samples. This includes sewing of all prototypes and various garment samples for market, Public Relations press and preseason sales samples. This role is also responsible for maintaining the organization of sewing components and trims used for samples.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Constructs one of a kind garments to the pattern and/or draping specifications of Creative Hub.  
• Provides expert finishing and tailoring of specialty garments for clients.
• Ensures the highest possible level of quality and standards in keeping with the Calvin Klein brand and image.
• Responsible for being part of the creative process.
• Develops new and innovative solutions to garment construction in tandem with design concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

• Knowledge of fine fabrics, trims, knitting and weaving, embroidery and beading.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Some Patternmaking knowledge preferred

Education: Courses in patternmaking and garment construction preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent handwork skills, including hand and machine sewing.
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly developed standards of excellence with garment sewing and fit
• Highly skilled sewer with expertise in techniques and construction
• Excellent handwork and machine sewing skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects, meet critical deadlines and work well under pressure
• Ability to work with luxury and innovative fabrics
• Creativity, Flexibility, adaptability, initiative.
• Ability to work long hours when needed
